History of the Flute
The oldest flutes found to date, were actually from thousands of years ago. Back then they were used during hunting, and music rituals. These flutes were made of bone.
Later on, flutes were discovered to be created out of wood, and bamboo. They would just have open holes (similar to a recorder) therefore; you could either play it to the left or right side, even straight like a clarinet.
Up until the middle ages, the flute was played by hunters, shepherds, musicians for special occasions, and also soldiers. These days, flutes are played worldwide by a variety of people, and for multiple reasons.
